As we move into the final weeks of 2025, the digital-signage landscape continues to move fast. Smarter systems, better hardware and stronger focus on sustainability are influencing the direction of our industry.
One clear shift is the expansion of programmatic digital-out-of-home and deeper integration of CMS platforms. More display networks now monetise their screens in real time and target audiences with higher accuracy. At the same time, new display hardware is raising expectations across all environments. Recent installations of outdoor LED ribbons, micro-LED walls and high-brightness modular displays show how flexible, dynamic and impactful new formats have become.
Sustainability is also gaining real momentum. Ultra-low-power reflective displays and energy-efficient outdoor systems are helping organisations cut costs, reduce emissions and deploy signage in places where traditional screens would not be practical.
For our Global Signage Alliance community, these developments highlight three priorities:
1. Embrace data-driven monetisation
Screens are part of larger media networks. Value now lies in how well we use data, optimise content and manage demand.
2. Prioritise operational sustainability
Energy use, hardware lifespan, and responsible deployment are becoming central to long-term planning and ESG goals.
3. Strengthen hardware-software convergence
The future depends on tighter alignment between display technology, CMS platforms and analytics. Teams need to understand all three.
In the coming months, AI-powered content orchestration and sustainable signage infrastructure will become hot topics across all GS-Alliance committees. The aim is to help members stay ahead, understand emerging standards and make informed decisions in a fast-changing market heavily influenced with AI.
Let’s continue to stay committed to advancing digital signage through collaboration and clear direction.
